It’s
funny how life is… It all seems so clear now…

Growing
up, the middle of 5 children on a farm in Hamilton, Michigan, I
always sort of envied the kids who lived in the village.
They didn’t have to bale hay, weed the garden, feed the cows or
collect eggs… like I had to. My friends all lived close
together, and could hang out with each other any time they wanted. The
only kids I could hang out with were my brother and sisters. Somehow,
it just didn’t seem fair. Don’t get me wrong… I had
a charmed childhood. My parents were great, and they made sure that I
always had plenty of food, pets and love.
Time
moved on… I graduated from high school and went to college with
a plan to get a business degree and work in an office… not in
the dirt! Once I was finished with school, I went to work in an
office…I got married… had two amazing kids and learned
firsthand how stress can impact your life and
health.
It took
me nearly 20 years to realize that my dream of working in the
corporate world wasn’t what made me happy. So, in 1999, I quit
my job and went back to school to follow my lifelong passion…
natural health. I have since received my natural health education at
the Naturopathic Institute of Therapies and Education as well as a
number of other wonderful organizations where I have taken
specialized classes. I currently hold the following titles, but like
most people in the health field… I’ll never stop studying
and learning new things.

My life
is blessed! I live on a small acreage in Rockford, where I also have
my office. I have an incredible partner, my girls are grown and
wonderful and I love what I do. I have a garden, where I could spend
endless hours playing in the dirt. I still have plenty of food, pets
and love. Interestingly enough… some of the people I most enjoy
spending time with are my family, including my brother and sisters.
Did I mention that I would kind of like to get some chickens?
